Max Abmas was named preseason Summit League Player of the Year and to the league's preseason First Team. Abmas earned a spot on the Naismith Player of the Year Watch List and the NABC Preseason Player of the Year Watch List as well as on the 2023 Bob Cousy Award Watch List and Wooden Top 50. All for the second-straight season.
• For the first time since 2011-12, the Golden Eagles were picked No. 1 in the Summit League preseason rankings. ORU is also No. 14 in the College Insider Mid-Major Poll.
• Abmas continues where he left off last season averaging 18.9 points per game. Three other Golden Eagles average double-digits with Carlos Jurgens,
Issac McBride and
Connor Vanover. Vanover averages 13.3 points, McBride scores 11.5 and Jurgens scored 10.
• Vanover has totaled 40 blocks this season. He currently is third in the nation in total blocks and second in blocks per game (3.3). As a team, ORU is 12th in the nation in blocks per game.
• Abmas is 19th in the nation in free-throw percentage and 20th in three-pointers per game.
• ORU is hitting 11.1 triples per game, which puts the team 7th in the nation and first in the Summit League. The Golden Eagles have totaled 144 three-point buckets this season.
• On the glass, ORU leads the Summit League in defensive rebounds with per game (28.2).
• This will be the 20th all-time meeting between Oral Roberts and Omaha. ORU leads the series, 15-4. Last season, the Golden Eagles swept the series winning 107-62 at home (Jan. 1) and on the road, 100-88, (Jan. 27).

• Omaha is 5-8 on the season and on a two game winning streak. In its previous game, Omaha opened league player with an 83-66 win at home against Denver.
• Two Mavericks average double figures with Marquel Sutton leading the team with 11.8 ppg. Frankie Fidler is just behind scoring 11.6 ppg.
• The Mavericks average 68.1 points per game and shoot 44.6 percent from the field and 31.7 from three-point range. Omaha is 16th in the nation in free-throw percentage.
• Omaha was picked to finish ninth in this year's preseason rankings.
