#ORUWBB Cruises Past Western Illinois, 93-74

TULSA, Okla. – Four players notched double figures as the Oral Roberts women's basketball team cruised past Western Illinois, 93-74, in Summit League action Thursday evening from the Mabee Center.

Tirzah Moore led all players in scoring with 25, finishing the game 11-of-14 from the field. Delaney Nix and Regan Schumacher chipped in 16 points, while Katie Scott added 14.

Trailing 6-5 at the 7:13 mark of the first quarter, the Golden Eagles used a 16-0 run sparked by an Ariel Walker three-pointer to take a 21-6 lead. Five different ORU players scored during the run, led by Walker's six points.

After Western Illinois trimmed the deficit to 27-16 to end the first, the Golden Eagles pushed their advantage to 17, 36-19, with a 9-3 start to the second period. The Leathernecks drew within 10 following an Elizabeth Lutz layup with :27 ticks left but Nix connected on a triple just before the buzzer to give ORU the 46-33 halftime lead.

A 17-7 Western Illinois run drew them within five, 60-55, with 2:11 left in the third quarter. That was as close as the Leathernecks would get as ORU closed the frame with an 8-2 surge to take a 68-57 lead into the fourth.

The Golden Eagles opened their largest lead of the contest, 88-65, following an 11-2 stretch that Nix capped off with a triple as 4:33 remained in the contest. A jumper by Trinity Moore closed out the scoring for the evening as ORU went on to win, 93-74.
 
THE LEADERS
Oral Roberts: Moore registered her fifth career 20-point game after finishing with 25 points to lead all players. The freshman also pulled down a game-best eight rebounds in the win. Scott notched her second double-double of the season, both coming against the Leathernecks, after pouring in 14 points to go along with a career-high 10 assists.

Western Illinois:  Lutz scored a team-high 20 points on 6-of-12 shooting and dished out four assists to lead the Leathernecks.
                                                                                                                                                  
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- ORU assisted on 29 of the 34 made field goal attempts, setting a new season-high.
- Overall, the Golden Eagles shot 59.6 percent from the field and 50 percent from deep in the win.
- Nix added five assists to her 16 point total on the evening.
- All five of Nix's made field goals came from the beyond the arc.
- Keni Jo Lippe was the third Golden Eagle to register at least five assists in the win.
- On the glass, ORU out-rebounded Western Illinois, 39-22.
- ORU's bench chipped in with 32 points.
