#ORUWBB Drops Regular Season Finale at South Dakota, 78-49

VERMILLION, S.D. – Tirzah Moore netted 18 points but the Oral Roberts women's basketball team dropped their regular season finale on the road Saturday afternoon to South Dakota, 78-49, in Vermillion, South Dakota.

Moore opened the scoring with a jumper inside the paint :54 ticks into the contest. A 7-2 Yotes run gave them their largest lead of the period, 13-6, as 4:17 showed on the clock. Delaney Nix stopped the run with a three-pointer and Moore followed with a jumper to bring the deficit to two, 15-13, at the 2:40 mark. South Dakota scored five of the last eight points of the period to take a 20-16 lead. 

After a pair of makes at the line by Katie Scott cut the margin back to two, 23-21, the Yotes used a 9-3 stretch to up their lead to eight, 32-24, with 2:26 remaining in the half. South Dakota pushed their lead to double figures, 36-26, for the first time on the afternoon as 1:09 showed on the clock. Moore sank the final basket of the half for the Golden Eagles as they headed to the locker room down 38-28.

An 11-2 start to the third quarter by the Yotes stretched their advantage to 19, 49-30, midway through the third quarter. Neither team found the bottom of the net for the next 3:18 until Scott knocked down a pair of free throws to halt the South Dakota run momentarily. The Yotes netted six of the final eight points of the period to take a 55-33 lead into the fourth.

Hannah Cooper opened the final quarter of play with an and-one that sparked a 7-2 run by the Golden Eagles, which cut the deficit to 57-40 with 7:46 showing on the clock. The Yotes responded with a 14-4 run to take a 27-point lead, 71-44, with 4:45 left in the contest. South Dakota took their largest lead of the day, 78-47, at the 1:29 mark. Ariel Walker scored the final basket of the afternoon as South Dakota went on to win 78-49.

THE LEADERS
Oral Roberts: For a sixth straight game, Moore led the Golden Eagles in scoring, finishing with 18 points. The freshman also pulled down five rebounds.

South Dakota: Four Yotes reached double figures on the day, led by Kyah Watson with 18 points.
                                                                                                                                                  
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Scott and Moore each registered five rebounds as the Golden Eagles dropped the battle on the boards, 33-31.
- Keni Jo Lippe dished out a team-best four assists. 
- Moore recorded a team-high three steals.
- The Golden Eagles finished the contest 14-of-17 from the foul line.
