TULSA, Okla. – ORU Athletics will host its inaugural 918 day presented by Tedford Insurance Sunday, September 18 from 4-6 p.m. at the Mabee Center.
 
What is 918 Day?
The inaugural 918 Day presented by Tedford Insurance is all about connecting ORU student-athletes and coaches with city of Tulsa. This is a chance for the department and university to give back to the community and will coincide with the 918 area code for the greater Tulsa area. ORU is an institution that draws students from all 50 states and over 125 countries that make up the student body. It is vital for ORU Athletics to introduce the 260-plus student-athletes to a wide variety of experiences throughout the city of Tulsa. Fans are encouraged to come out for games, fellowship, prizes, food trucks and more during this unique event. Admission is free and children of all ages are encouraged to attend.
 
Community Service Outreach
Leading up to the event on Sunday, September 18, ORU coaches and student-athletes will visit an organization throughout the city each day of the work week. This is a small way to give back to a city that has provided so much for ORU staff and students. Current organizations that have committed to partner with ORU Athletics for the week are: The Tulsa Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, Jenks Elementary, Street School, John 3:16 Mission and Bixby Outreach Center. What to Expect
Fans will get the chance to interact with ORU student-athletes and coaches and there will be ORU gear available for purchase. Men's and women's basketball season tickets will be on sale for fan convenience. Student-athletes will be available to sign autographs and take kids through different stations spread throughout the Mabee Center floor and concourse.
