Max Abmas was named preseason Summit League Player of the Year and to the league's preseason First Team. Abmas earned a spot on the Naismith Player of the Year Watch List and the NABC Preseason Player of the Year Watch List as well as on the 2023 Bob Cousy Award Watch List and Wooden Top 50. All for the second-straight season.
• For the first time since 2011-12, the Golden Eagles were picked No. 1 in the Summit League preseason rankings. ORU is also No. 10 in the College Insider Mid-Major Poll.
• ORU is on a 10 game winning streak, the nation's 5th longest winning streak.
• Abmas is averaging 20.7 points per game which is 14th in the nation. Two other Golden Eagles average double-digits with
Issac McBride and
Connor Vanover. Vanover averages 12.7 points and McBride scores 11.5.
• Vanover has totaled 54 blocks this season. He currently is second in the nation in total blocks and second in blocks per game (3.6). As a team, ORU is 3rd in the nation in blocks per game (6.0).
• Abmas is 9th in the nation in free-throw percentage and 11th in three-pointers per game.
• ORU is hitting 11.2 triples per game, which puts the team 4th in the nation and first in the Summit League. The Golden Eagles have totaled 180 three-point buckets this season.
• On the glass, ORU leads the Summit League in defensive rebounds with per game (27.5).
• This will be the 4th all-time meeting between Oral Roberts and New Mexico. UNM leads the series, 2-1. The Lobos won the last meeting, 91-75, on December 1, 2015. On December 23, 2009, the Golden Eagles defeated the Lobos, 75-66, at the Mabee Center.

• Three average double figures with Jamal Mashurn Jr. leading the team with 17.6 ppg. Jaelen House scores 16.7 points and Morris Udeze is just behind scoring 16.3 ppg.
• The Lobos average 82.6 points per game and shoot 48.4 percent from the field and 35.7 from three-point range. New Mexico is 16th in the nation in scoring offense.
