• Issac McBride was named to the Preseason All-Summit League First Team and Kareem Thompson earned a spot on the Second Team as the Golden Eagles were picked second in the league's preseason poll, but did receive seven first place votes.
 
• The Golden Eagles received votes in the preseason Mid-Major Poll.
 
• ORU's 17 game home winning streak goes back to last season when the Golden Eagles went undefeated at home. It is the nation's fifth longest home game win streak.
 
• Through two games, four Golden Eagles average double-digits with Thompson and DeShang Weaver leading the team with 17.5 ppg. each. McBride is shooting 15.5 ppg. and newcomer Jailen Bedford is averaging 12.5 ppg.
 
• Weaver is currently fifth in the nation in blocks per game averaging 4.5 bpg. He has a total of 117 career blocks which puts him eighth all-time in the ORU record book.
 
• Oral Roberts has eight newcomers joining the squad with two true freshmen and six transfers, including three Power 5 transfers.
• Russell Springmann takes over at the helm of the ORU program in his first season as a head coach in his career. He is in his sixth season at ORU. He earned his first career head coaching win on Nov. 6, 2023, with a 75-71 victory over Mid-America Christian.


Scouting the Opponent
• This will be the 21st meeting against Missouri State with the series tied, 10-10. Last season, ORU defeated the Bears, 80-77, at the Mabee Center on December 16, 2022. The Golden Eagles are 2-7 all-time in Springfield.


• In the Bears are 0-1 on the season after a 67-59 loss at West Virginia on opening night. Chance Moore had 24 points and Alston Mason had 15. The Bears return 10 from last season.


• The Bears were picked sixth in the Missouri Valley Conference preseason poll.


• ORU is 47-51 all-time against Missouri Valley Conference opponents.
