Opening Serve
• Outside hitter
Trinity Freeman continues to lead the offensive attack for the Golden Eagles as the junior has led the team in kills in 21 of the last 22 matches. The Phoenix, Arizona, native is coming off her ninth double-double of the season after putting down 18 kills and scooping up 13 digs on Sunday against St. Thomas. With the performance, Freeman has now surpassed double-digit kills in 15 matches this season and 46 times in her career.
• Among the Summit League, Freeman ranks second in kills per set (3.53) and points per set (3.87). At the national level, the junior ranks 16th in attacks per set (11.49).
• Senior setter
Kalena Vaivai continues to orchestrate the ORU attack, dishing out a career-best 704 assists on the year. The Wailuku, Hawaii, native recorded a strong all-around performance in the Golden Eagles' last match on Sunday, registering 38 assists, 13 digs, six kills, four blocks and three service aces. The double-double marked the senior's eighth of the season.
• On the backrow, libero
Breanna Rivas ranks fourth among the League in digs per set at 3.73. The junior has logged double-digit digs in five of her last seven matches.
• Freshman
Alaina Larson continues to make a big impact on the backrow for ORU as the defensive specialist leads the Summit League in aces per set at 0.44.
• At the net, middle blockers
Kedron Burk and
Natassia Baptiste lead the team with 54.0 blocks apiece.
Inside the Matchup
• Wednesday's match marks the 22nd meeting all-time and second this season between the two squads.
• Denver claimed the first meeting between the two sides in straight sets back on November 2 inside the Mabee Center.
• The Golden Eagles are in search of their first win over the Pioneers since 2017.
