Quick Hits

• Issac McBride was named to the Preseason All-Summit League First Team and Kareem Thompson earned a spot on the Second Team as the Golden Eagles were picked second in the league's preseason poll, but did receive seven first place votes.
 
• ORU's 17 game home winning streak goes back to last season when the Golden Eagles went undefeated at home. It is the nation's fifth longest home game win streak.
 
• Through three games, four Golden Eagles average double-digits with McBride leading the way with 19.3 points per game. DeShang Weaver scores 15.3 ppg., and Thompson with 13 ppg. Newcomer Jailen Bedford is shooting 10.1 ppg.
 
• Weaver is currently ninth in the nation in blocks per game averaging three bpg. He is sixth in the nation in total blocks with nine. He has a total of 117 career blocks which puts him eighth all-time in the ORU record book.
 
• Oral Roberts has eight newcomers joining the squad with two true freshmen and six transfers, including three Power 5 transfers.
 
• Russell Springmann takes over at the helm of the ORU program in his first season as a head coach in his career. He is in his sixth season at ORU. He earned his first career head coaching win on Nov. 6, 2023, with a 75-71 victory over Mid-America Christian.

Scouting the Opponent
• This will be the 13th meeting against Texas A&M with the Aggies leading the series, 8-4. The last time the two met on the hardwood was November 13, 2007, at the NIT tip-off event in College Station, Texas. A&M won, 67-53. ORU is 1-5 all-time in College Station.
 
• The Aggies are 3-0 on the season after defeating SMU 79-66 in Dallas on November 14. The team also has wins over Texas A&M-Commerce and Ohio State.
 
• The Aggies were picked second in the Southeastern Conference preseason poll.
 
• ORU is 12-45 all-time against Southeastern Conference opponents.
 
• A&M has three double-digit scorers with Wade Taylor IV leading the way with 17.3 ppg.
