Quick Hits

• Issac McBride was named to the Preseason All-Summit League First Team and Kareem Thompson earned a spot on the Second Team as the Golden Eagles were picked second in the league's preseason poll, but did receive seven first place votes.

• McBride was named Summit League Player of the Week on November 20 at scoring a combined 54 points at Missouri State and at Texas A&M. He scored a career high 27 points in both outings and a career high seven assists in College Station. Against Texas Southern, he had 23 points for his third-straight 20-plus point game. He is currently 18^th in the nation in points per game.
 
• ORU is on an 18 home game winning streak that goes back to the 2022-23 season when the Golden Eagles went undefeated at home winning all 16 home games. It is the nation's fourth longest home game win streak.
 
• Through five games, four Golden Eagles average double-digits with McBride leading the way with 21.6 points per game. DeShang Weaver scores 14.6 ppg., and Thompson with 11.4 ppg. Newcomer Jailen Bedford is shooting 10.8 ppg.
 
• Weaver is currently second in the nation in blocks per game averaging 3.2 bpg. He is ninth in the nation in total blocks with 18. He has a total of 126 career blocks which puts him eighth all-time in the ORU record book.
 
• Oral Roberts has eight newcomers joining the squad with two true freshmen and six transfers, including three Power 5 transfers.
 
• Russell Springmann takes over at the helm of the ORU program in his first season as a head coach in his career. He is in his sixth season at ORU. He earned his first career head coaching win on Nov. 6, 2023, with a 75-71 victory over Mid-America Christian. He earned his first Division-I win with a 65-63 victory at home against Texas Southern.

Scouting the Opponent
• This will be the 7^th meeting against Kansas State with ORU trailing the series, 4-2. The last time the two met on the hardwood was November 29, 2017, Manhattan, Kansas. The Golden Eagles fell, 77-68. ORU 0-4 all-time against the Wildcats in Manhattan.
 
• The Wildcats are 4-2 on the season and 3-0 at home. In its most recent game, K-State won, 100-56, over Central Arkansas. Earlier this season, K-State defeated Summit League foe South Dakota State, 91-68 at home.
 
• Kansas State was picked to finish sixth in Big 12 Conference preseason poll.
 
• ORU is 16-76 all-time against Big 12 Conference opponents.
 
• Tylor Perry leads the Wildcats in scoring by averaging 17 points per game. Cam Carter adds 16.5 points per game, followed by Arthur Kaluma with 14.8 ppg.

• Former ORU assistant coach Rodney Perry is now on staff as an assistant coach for K-State.
