TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts men's basketball team will begin the 2023-24 season on the road with a trip to Arlington, Texas, to face the UT Arlington Mavericks on Monday, November 6 at 7 p.m. at College Park Center.

• Issac McBride was named to the Preseason All-Summit League First Team and Kareem Thompson earned a spot on the Second Team as the Golden Eagles were picked second in the league's preseason poll, but did receive seven first place votes.
• The Golden Eagles received votes in the preseason Mid-Major Poll.

• McBride averaged 11.8 ppg last season and Thompson averaged 9.8 ppg as ORU had the nation's third best offense last season.


• Oral Roberts has eight newcomers joining the squad with two true freshmen and six transfers.


• Russell Springmann takes over at the helm of the ORU program in his first season as a head coach in his career. He will begin his sixth season at ORU.


Scouting the Opponent
• This will be the ninth all-time meeting between ORU and UT Arlington. The Golden Eagles lead the series, 5-3. In the last meeting, ORU defeated the Mavericks, 71-62 (Dec. 16, 2021), at home.


• UT Arlington has three returners from last season with two being starters after losing 10. The Mavericks bring in 10 newcomers. UTA was picked eighth in the preseason WAC rankings.


• The Mavericks went 11-21 last season and 6-12 in the Western Athletic Conference. UTA is guided by first year head coach KT Turner.
