TULSA, Okla. – Despite a game-high 32 points from Hannah Cooper, the Oral Roberts women's basketball team fell on the road to North Dakota, 108-100, Thursday evening inside the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Cooper finished the night 12-of-21 from the field and added a game-best 10 rebounds for her second straight double-double. The 30-plus point performance marked the senior's fourth of the season. The El Paso, Texas, native also totaled a career-high tying six steals on the night.
Ruthie Udoumoh followed with 15 points and pulled down nine rebounds, narrowly missing a double-double. Tirzah Moore (13), Ariel Walker (11) and Lauren Ramey (11) rounded out the double-figure scorers for ORU on the night.
The Golden Eagles raced out to a 13-4 start behind seven points from Moore in the opening 3:41. UND responded with a 7-0 run to draw within two, 13-11, before a Cooper jumper ended the Fighting Hawks stretch at the 4:56 mark. After ORU's lead grew to 23-18, UND netted five straight points to even the score, 23-23, with 1:36 left in the quarter. Ramey answered on the next possession with a corner three and Udoumoh added a layup as the Golden Eagles led 28-25 after the first quarter.

Following a Delaney Nix three-pointer that put ORU up 36-32, the Fighting Hawks used a 5-0 stretch to take their first lead of the night, 37-36, with 6:55 left before half. The two sides went back-and-forth over the final seven minutes as UND outscored ORU 14-13 to take a 51-49 advantage into the half. Cooper compiled a near double-double in the opening 20 minutes as the senior registered 15 points and seven rebounds.
After a 6-0 run from the Fighting Hawks saw their lead grow to eight, 61-53, the Golden Eagles answered with a 6-0 stretch of their own to draw within two, 61-59, at the 6:52 mark. North Dakota later extended their advantage to 11, 74-63, following a 9-0 run with 3:41 left in the third. The two sides alternated the final 18 points of the quarter as the Fighting Hawks headed to the fourth with an 83-72 advantage.Â
Five straight points from UND saw its lead grow to the largest of the game, 100-85, as 5:39 showed on the clock. ORU responded with a 9-0 stretch that was capped off by a Hannah Cooper and-one to pull within six, 100-94, with 2:31 left in the contest. North Dakota put an end to the run with a pair of free throws as they held on to win 108-100.
THE LEADERS
Oral Roberts: Cooper reached double-figures for the 21st straight game after leading all players with 32 points. The senior also pulled down a game-best 10 rebounds for her third career double-double.
North Dakota: Kacie Borowicz led the Fighting Hawks with 27 points and dished out a game-high 11 assists.
