VERMILLION, S.D. - The Oral Roberts women's tennis team won, 5-2, on the road Friday afternoon at league opponent South Dakota.
 
Despite South Dakota winning the first doubles match, the Golden Eagles turned the momentum in their favor by winning the next two matches to claim the team's doubles point. Sasha Lebedeva and Reagan Miley won at No. 2, 6-4, followed by Arina Sorokina and Zere Iskakova getting done at No. 3, 7-6 (7-5).
 
ORU took a 2-0 lead when Chara Grammatikaki earned the first singles point winning at the No. 2 position, 6-3, 6-1. After USD made it a 2-1 match, Iskakova claimed a 6-1, 6-3, win at No. 6 to put the Golden Eagles up, 3-1. Sorokina claimed the dual for ORU with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 4 to make it a 4-1 score. Luna Morini added a point making it 5-1 with her victory at No. 3 by retirement, 6-4, 3-5.
 
"What a great win on the road by the ladies today," Head Coach Mark Milner said. "They had to play in tricky conditions, but were extremely mentally tough. They're starting to play their best tennis at the right time. We look forward to getting back on the court on Sunday in Kansas City."
 
Up Next: ORU will play its final regular season match Sunday, April 16 at 2 p.m. on the road at Kansas City.
