TULSA, Okla. – The No. 16 Oral Roberts baseball team registered its 10th straight win with a 12-4 victory over Southern Indiana in the series opener Friday night from J.L. Johnson Stadium. The 10-game win streak marks the longest for the Golden Eagles since 2008.

Jakob Hall picked up the win to move to 7-3 on the season after tossing seven innings of two-run baseball to go along with four strikeouts. On the offensive end, Holden Breeze, Jonah Cox, Matt Hogan, Jake McMurray and Justin Quinn each recorded multi-hit performances. For Cox, the multi-hit game marked the 27th of the season for the junior, who pushed his hitting streak to 33 games.

After Southern Indiana jumped in front 1-0 in the first, the Golden Eagles answered with a five-spot in the bottom half of the frame. A bases-loaded walk from Hogan evened the game at 1-1 before Drew Stahl put ORU in front with a two-run single through the left side. The junior later came around to score on a Breeze RBI single. Catcher Jacob Godman plated Breeze for the fifth and final run of the frame with a sacrifice fly to left.

The Golden Eagles tacked on two more runs in the second behind an RBI single from Hogan and an RBI fielder's choice from Mac McCroskey as their lead grew to 7-1.

In the fourth, the Screaming Eagles cut into the advantage, 7-2, with an RBI double down the left-field line. McCroskey got the run back for ORU in the bottom half of the inning with an RBI single that plated Hogan, who reached on a single.

Quinn extended the Golden Eagle advantage to 10-2 in the sixth with a two-run opposite-field homer down the left-field line. The long ball marked the sixth of the season for the senior.

After Blaze Brothers singled and advanced to second on a wild pitch in the seventh, Cox plated the senior with an RBI single through the right side as ORU led 11-2.

A two-run triple off the bat of Ren Tachioka cut the Golden Eagle lead to 11-4 in the eighth. In the bottom half of the frame, a passed ball allowed McCroskey, who reached on a hit-by-pitch, to score the final run as ORU went on to win, 12-4.
