- Oral Roberts ranks No. 24 in the nation according to the latest College Soccer News poll and No. 25 in the Top Drawer Soccer poll. In their last contest, ORU fell 1-0 at No. 11 SMU in Dallas.
- Luis Flores and Jakub Grzesiak claimed this week's Summit League Offensive and Defensive Peak Performer honors, respectively.
- The Golden Eagles lead the Summit League in goals scored with 10 and are 10th in the nation in that category. The team also ranks No. 13 in the nation in scoring offense and No. 17 in goal differential.
- Luis Flores is sixth in the nation in total goals scored and seventh in goals per game. Flores leads the league in both categories. He also earned a spot in this week's College Soccer News National Team of the Week.
- Reed Berry and Schinieder Mimy were named Summit League preseason Players to Watch.
- ORU returned six of its All-Summit League Team members which includes Shane Anderson, Berry, Francisco Lopez, Felipe Medina, Schinieder Mimy and Joel Quashie.
- The Golden Eagles were picked second in the Summit League Preseason Coaches' Poll along with two first place votes.
- Head Coach Ryan Bush is back for his 11th season at the helm for the Golden Eagles. Bush has an 83-66-21 all-time record at ORU as the men's soccer coach. Coach Bush was named 2019, 2021 & 2022 Summit League Coach of the Year.
- Overall, the Golden Eagles returned 19 players and added 11 newcomers to the 2023 squad.
Opponent Information
- Houston Christian is 1-2-1 on the season and sits fifth in the Ohio Valley Conference standings. Last weekend, HCU went on the road and dropped a 2-1 match against Belmont on Friday and tied UAB, 1-1, both games were in Birmingham.
- HCU was picked to finish third with four first place votes in the Ohio Valley Conference preseason coaches' poll. D'Alessandro Herrera was named preseason all-conference.
