TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts volleyball team continues non-conference action as they travel across town for the Tulsa Invitational starting Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. inside the Reynolds Center against rival Tulsa. The Golden Eagles will then face Central Arkansas on Friday at 4 p.m. before concluding the tournament against UT Arlington on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Opening Serve
• ORU picked up its lone win of the Hampton Inn Invitational on Saturday, sweeping UC Riverside. 

Trinity Freeman, who was named to the Hampton Inn Invitational All-Tournament Team, powered the Golden Eagle offense in the victory as the junior tallied 19 kills on 28 swings with only one error for a career-high .643 hitting percentage. The Phoenix, Arizona, native also totaled 10 digs en route to her second double-double of the 2023 campaign. Overall, Freeman racked up a team-best 40 kills in the three matches to go along with a .352 attack percentage. 

• Among the Summit League, Freeman ranks third in kills per set (3.40), fifth in total kills (68) and eighth in points (74.5) 

• In Saturday's win, setter Kalena Vaivai surpassed 2,000 assists for her career after dishing out 31. The senior, who began her collegiate career at Utah State, is currently 220 assists away from 1,000 in her Golden Eagle career. Through six matches this season, Vaivai ranks fourth in the Summit League in assists with 169. 

• Middle blocker Kedron Burk is coming off the best performance of her career on Saturday as the sophomore put down a career-best 10 kills on 16 swings with no errors for a .625 hitting percentage. On the year, Burk ranks second in the League in attack percentage with a .347 mark. 

• As a team, ORU ranks second in the Summit League in aces per set (1.60), opponent hitting percentage (.175) and team attacks per set (36.9).

Inside the Matchup: Tulsa
• Thursday's meeting marks the 87th all-time between the two crosstown rivals. 

• The Golden Eagles lead the all-time series, 59-27, but are looking for their first win over the Golden Hurricane since 2008.

• Thursday's matchup serves as the home opener for Tulsa, who enters the tournament with a 2-3 mark. 

Inside the Matchup: Central Arkansas
• ORU and Central Arkansas meet for the 15th time on Friday. 

• The Bears claimed last season's meeting in four sets and have won three straight in the series. 

• Central Arkansas, who was picked to finish fourth in the ASUN Preseason Poll, opens the weekend with a 2-5 record.  

Inside the Matchup: UT Arlington
• Saturday's match marks the 20th meeting all-time and first since 2015 between the Golden Eagles and Mavericks.

• ORU has claimed five of the last six meetings between the two squads but trails the all-time series, 8-12. 

• The Mavericks are the lone unbeaten team in the field and were picked to finish fifth in the WAC Preseason Coaches Poll.
