TULSA, Okla. – Late second-half goals by both programs resulted in a tie for the Oral Roberts women's soccer team and Omaha Sunday afternoon from the Case Soccer Complex.
Â
The first half started slowly, with both teams taking a more methodical approach to the match. The first shot of the match came at the 13-minute mark from Omaha's Maggie Gundersen. ORU took its first shots in the 29
th minute as
Julia Thasaphong and
Kennedy Langebartels both had looks but were unable to convert on their header attempts. Both teams went into the break tied at zero.
Â
Prior to the second half, UNO made a goalkeeper substitution replacing Mia Reedtz Rehde Olesen with Maja Baun. The action and aggressiveness on offense picked up for both ORU and Omaha. In the 57
th minute, forward
Lela Stark subbed onto the pitch and provided an instant spark and pressure on Omaha's defense. In the 70

th minute, Omaha capitalized on its ninth corner kick of the match and evened the score 1-1. The Golden Eagles tried to mount an attack over the final 90 seconds, but the match ended in a draw.
