TULSA, Okla. – Oral Roberts University Men's Soccer continues to make its mark on the professional soccer landscape as standout forwards
Luis Flores and
Omar Mora have signed contracts with USL clubs. Flores joins the USL League One, while Mora takes his talents to the USL Championship.
Luis Flores: A Record-Breaking Career
Luis Flores leaves ORU as one of the most decorated players in program history. Over two seasons, the Tyler JC recruit appeared in 33 matches, amassing 22 goals and 6 assists for a remarkable 50 career points. A two-time Summit League First Team All-League selection, Flores' 2023 season was historic, earning him the Summit League Offensive Player of the Year award and a spot on the United Soccer Coaches' 2024 NCAA Division I Men's Players to Watch list.
Flores set the ORU single-season record for goals scored with 15 during the 2023 campaign, showcasing his ability to dominate at the highest level. Prior to ORU, he was a Junior College All-American at Tyler JC, a foundation that set the stage for his stellar collegiate career.
Omar Mora: A Dynamic Debut
Omar Mora made an immediate impact during his lone season with the Golden Eagles, appearing in 16 matches and registering 10 goals and 1 assist. Mora's scoring prowess earned him Summit League Second Team All-League honors and the Summit League Peak Newcomer of the Month award for September.
Mora etched his name into ORU history by scoring the most goals in a regular-season debut since
Reed Berry's brace against Drake in 2019. Before joining ORU, Mora was recruited from Angelina Junior College, where he was a Junior College All-American and led the nation in goals during his sophomore season. His ability to shine in pivotal moments made him a key contributor during the 2023 campaign.
Path to the Pros
"Luis and Omar have been phenomenal ambassadors for our program both on and off the field," said ORU Head Coach
Ryan Bush. "Their hard work, talent, and determination have earned them these incredible opportunities. We're excited to see them excel at the professional level and continue representing ORU with excellence."
Flores and Mora's signings underscore the growing reputation of ORU Men's Soccer as a pipeline for professional talent, and the Golden Eagles look forward to following their success in the next chapters of their careers.
