TULSA, Okla. – The ORU women's basketball team made history to close out their 2024 non-conference slate, scoring a program-record 124 points in a single game, defeating Haskell 124-47.
 
Jalei Oglesby and Makyra Tramble led the Golden Eagles, scoring 22 and 21 points, respectively. Oglesby shot an efficient 9-11 from the field while Tramble shot 8-11 from the field, tacking on four triples. Tyla Heard had a career night, recording nine points, eight rebounds and seven assists, setting career-highs in all three stats.
 
Two layups from Makyra Tramble and one from Ruthie Udoumoh kicked off the game and a 6-0 ORU run. Haskell fought back quickly, cutting the ORU lead to two (10-8) with just 4:23 to play in the first. A one-score game quickly turned into an a lot score game as the Golden Eagles sparked an 18-1 run to close the quarter, holding a 28-9 lead heading into the second.

A quick three by Taleyah Jones and a layup from Ruthie Udoumoh got the Golden Eagles in a groove in the second quarter, preparing them to outscore the Fighting Indians 30-11. A run of 12 combined with shooting an efficient 55% from the field helped them extend their lead to 38 at the break.
 
Coming out of the break, ORU shot lights out from the field in the third quarter (13-20, 65%), outscoring Haskell 38-11 while building their lead to 68 (1:34). Four triples from the Golden Eagles compared to Haskell's zero, continued ORU's momentum from deep. Seven points each from Taleyah Jones and Jalei Oglesby in the third helped ORU build onto their comfortable lead.

The Golden Eagles allowed 16 points in the fourth, but it wasn't enough for Haskell to overcome the monumental lead. An early steal and triple from Annyka Hellendrung kicked things off in the final quarter of action as the Golden Eagles cruised to their 10th win of the season and their first 10-win non-conference slate since 2017-18.

The Leaders
Oral Roberts: Jalei Oglesby scored 22 points, shooting 9-11 (81.8%) from the field. She also tallied five rebounds, one block and one steal.
 
Haskell: Tierzah Penn scored 12 points for Haskell, racking up two steals and four threes on the afternoon.
