WACO, Texas – The Oral Roberts baseball team lost the opening game of their three-game series against Baylor on Friday night.
The Golden Eagles would strike first as Alex Rodgers worked his 10th walk of the season to drive in a run. Kyle Booker's bat stayed hot as he ripped a double to right-center to put ORU up 2-0 heading into the bottom of the third.
However Baylor quickly responded, evening the score off a two-RBI single. Starters Jakob Hall and Mason Marriott would continue their duel late into the middle three frame but the floodgates would open for the Bears in the sixth.
Baylor scored seven runs that inning and another two in the eight to put the game out of reach for the Golden Eagles and take the first game 11-2.
