GREELEY, Colo.– The Oral Roberts baseball team concluded their weekend in Colorado undefeated, after another offensive outburst in Game 2 and a comeback in Game 3.

Game 1
Following another fantastic outing by Jakob Hall, Brooks Fowler continued the dominance of ORU as the junior right handed fanned over 11 UNC batters in just five innings of work.

The ORU lineup gave Fowler plenty of run support as four different Golden Eagles collected an RBI through the first two innings of play.

After finally being held to a scoreless frame in the third, Drew Stahl would score ORU's fifth unanswered run off a single to center and Holden Breeze would blast his second homer of the series with a drive over the right field fence.

The Bears finally mustered up a response in the bottom of the fourth, knocking an unearned run off a single up the middle as they looked to climb their way back in the game.

However ORU would keep UNC well out of striking distance as the Golden Eagles outscored the Bears 9-2 over the next four innings which featured David Herring hitting another opposite-field longball and Kyle Booker launching a moonshot over the center field fence.

The Bears did manage to respond with a five-run outburst in the eighth highlighted by a grand slam by Caden Wagner but Colorado-native Jared Ure maintained his composure finishing 3.1 innings of relief to secure his first save for the Golden Eagles.

Game 3
In the second game of the doubleheader, ORU urgently needed to establish a lead before the 4:45 PM/MT travel curfew was put into effect which prevented any new inning from being played after the set time.

The game quickly turned into an uphill battle for the Golden Eagles as they quickly found themselves down one run to open the game. However, ORU showed resilience, tying the game in the third off an RBI from Holden Breeze.

UNC quickly took the lead back off an RBI triple from Caden Wagner but runs by Booker and Stahl tied the game in the top of the fifth.

Trouble would arise for the Golden Eagles as the Bears were able to mount a comeback taking a two-run lead in the seventh at 4:36 PM. Thankfully Dalton Patten gave ORU a chance to respond as he would retire the side with two minutes to spare.

With their backs against the wall, the Golden Eagles were met with a critical junction in their season. If they could escape Greeley unscathed from defeat, the uphill battle to reclaim their throne at the top of the Summit League can be much less steep as they set to host St. Thomas.

Sam Thompson would start the inning getting on base via an error by the UNC third baseman. Thompson was able to eventually reach third however it cost the Golden Eagles two outs. Head Coach Ryan Folmar called for Martell Davis to pinch-hit and keep ORU alive for another at bat and the junior would deliver with a RBI single.

Alex Rodgers kept the rally going with a single to advance Davis to third and came up clutch again, beating the second baseman to the bag as Elijah Rodriguez would tie the game.

The Bears prevented any more damage but were unable to walk off the Golden Eagles, securing the undefeated weekend for Oral Roberts.
