COMMERCE, Texas – The Oral Roberts women's soccer team fell, 4-1, in their season opener at Texas A&M – Commerce on Thursday, August 15.
 
The Lions came out hot, netting three first-half goals. Sophomore forward Hannah Bell scored the first two goals of the night before Camila Montero headed in a cross off a corner kick.
 
Summit League Preseason Player to Watch Samantha Guzman put the Golden Eagles on the board in the 54^th minute. Zoe McCabe found Guzman crashing towards the goal as the senior struck the cross into the back of the net.
 
The Golden Eagles continued to pressure Texas A&M – Commerce in the second half, but could not capitalize on more goal-scoring opportunities.
 
The Lions secured the win after a Savannah Powell header put the home team up, 4-1, in the 76^th minute.
