NORMAN, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women's soccer team was outshot 21-6 as Oklahoma defeated the Golden Eagles 4-1 Sunday night in Norman.

The Sooners came out aggressive from the opening kick. Oklahoma landed three shots on goal in the opening 10 minutes before Alexis Washington put one in the back of the net in the 13
th minute. Nine minutes later, Sophia Green put the home team up two off a cross from Leonie Weber. ORU recorded two shots in the first 45 minutes as OU carried its 2-0 lead into the break.

Oklahoma continued its offensive attack in the out of halftime. The Sooners scored their third goal of the match off a corner kick seven minutes into the second half. Ten minutes later, they capitalized on a penalty kick to make it 4-0. In the 87
th minute,
Marcella Alves knocked in a penalty kick of her own after OU was called for a handball. Alves has now scored a goal in two straight matches. Oklahoma held on for the final three minutes and took the 4-1 win.
