HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Oral Roberts volleyball team (0-2) suffered a pair of losses to UT-Chattanooga (2-1) and Alabama A&M (2-0) on Saturday at the Betty Austin Invitational in Huntsville, Alabama.
In the Golden Eagles opening match against UT-Chattanooga, outside hitter
Trinity Freeman recorded a double-double as the senior registered a team-high 16 kills on 56 swings (.214) to go along with 14 digs. Freshman setter
Rachel Resta guided the ORU offensive attack in her first game as a Golden Eagle, racking up 27 assists. The Summit League leader in service aces per set last season,
Alaina Larson, picked up where she left off, tallying five service aces. ORU picked up a win in the second set of the match but ultimately fell to the Mocs in four sets.
In the match against Alabama A&M, three Golden Eagles logged at least six kills led by
Trinity Freeman, tallying 13.
Anzley Rinard and
Natassia Baptiste chipped in with 8 and 6 kills, respectively.
Rachel Resta dished out a match-high 32 assists in the contest while on the defensive end,
Breanna Rivas paced the Golden Eagles with 25 digs.
