TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts University men's soccer program is pleased to announce the promotion of Brian McCurdy to Associate Head Coach. McCurdy, a highly regarded figure in Oklahoma soccer, has been an integral part of the success in bringing the Golden Eagles into the national spotlight.

Since joining ORU in the summer of 2018 as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, McCurdy has played a pivotal role in the program's achievements. Over five seasons, he has helped guide the team to an impressive overall record of 59-25-11 and secured three Summit League regular-season championships. "Coach McCurdy has been an integral part of our program's growth and success over the past six years," said Head Coach Ryan Bush. "His promotion to Associate Head Coach is well-deserved. He brings a wealth of experience, a keen eye for talent, and a relentless work ethic that resonates with our players and staff. We are excited to see his continued impact on our program."

Before his tenure at Oral Roberts, McCurdy made significant contributions to the NAIA soccer landscape as the head coach of Bacone College for two seasons. In his second season in 2016, he orchestrated a remarkable turnaround, guiding the Warriors to a 9-6-1 record, marking their first winning season in 12 years.

Prior to his collegiate coaching career, McCurdy honed his skills at the high school level, serving as the head coach at Union High School and Bixby High School. Under his leadership, both teams experienced substantial success, reaching the state playoffs in five out of six seasons.

McCurdy's journey in soccer traces back to his playing days, where he distinguished himself as a standout athlete. As a three-year letterwinner at Jenks High School, McCurdy tallied 15 goals and 10 assists during his senior year alone, earning recognition on the all-state, all-conference, and all-district teams. He continued his soccer career at the University of Tulsa, where he excelled as a midfielder and became a four-year letterwinner. His contributions were pivotal in helping the Golden Hurricane secure a Conference USA Championship in 2007 and a memorable run to the NCAA Elite Eight with the 2004 team.

McCurdy holds a USSF National D-License and earned his bachelor's degree in communication from Tulsa in 2007.
