FULLERTON, Calif. – The Golden Eagles dropped their final game of the Titan Invitational to host, Cal State Fullerton, falling 0-3. The Golden Eagles went 0-3 in the tournament and are looking to bounce back next weekend at the Wildcat Classic.
ORU looked to get revenge after their loss to Cal State Fullerton last night but couldn't secure the win in their second meeting of the tournament. The Golden Eagles came into the match swinging, leading 14-8 in set one behind three kills from
Natassia Baptiste. The Titans finished the set scoring 17 of the final 23 points, taking set one. The second set was neck-and-neck all the way through, until the score was tied 11-all. A
Rachel Resta kill sparked a 5-0 Golden Eagle run until the Titans answered back with a 6-1 run of their own. After leveling the score at 19, a 7-4 Titan run sealed set two for the tournament host. In set three, the Golden Eagles started in a 9-15 hole. With work to do, ORU went on a 10-5 run attempting to get back into the set but the Golden Eagles fell behind and Cal State Fullerton claimed set three.
