VERMILLION, S.D. – Despite a late second-half surge, the Oral Roberts men's basketball team could not overcome a 19-point deficit and fell to the South Dakota Coyotes 92-82 from the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.

The Golden Eagles came out aggressive to start the game, but USD's fast tempo opened scoring opportunities that the Coyotes took advantage of, and USD held a 10-point lead at the break. From the 11:18 mark to the 5:49 mark of the second half, however, ORU went on a 22-6 run and trimmed a 19-point Coyote lead down to three. The Golden Eagles showed fight, but the USD lead proved too big to overcome, and ORU suffered its ninth road loss of the season.

Although the Golden Eagles went on a few runs towards the end of the game, the lead built by the Coyotes during this time proved to much for ORU to battle back from.
