TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts men's basketball team and head coach Kory Barnett have announced the addition of transfer guard Ty Harper to the 2025-26 roster.

"Our staff is thrilled to welcome Ty Harper to the Golden Eagle family," said Coach Barnett. "Ty is an experienced veteran and proven leader who brings a winning mentality to our team. His versatility will be a game-changer at the point guard position, and we're excited to see the impact he'll make this season."

Harper spent the 2024-25 season at Youngstown State after a standout collegiate journey that included stints at Louisiana, Eastern Washington, and The Master's University. The 6-foot-4 guard brought veteran leadership and scoring prowess to the Penguins' backcourt, starting all 35 games and averaging 10.1 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per contest. He led the team in three-pointers made (44) and ranked second in free throw percentage (.792). Harper recorded nine double-digit scoring performances over the final 13 games of the season, highlighted by a 21-point outing at Northern Kentucky (Mar. 1).

Before joining YSU, Harper had a decorated 2023-24 season at The Master's, where he was named a NAIA Second-Team All-American and earned All-GSAC honors. He averaged 20.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.5 assists while shooting 47 percent from the field, 40.1 percent from three-point range, and 85.6 percent from the free-throw line. He scored in double figures in 31 of 33 games, including a career-high 43 points against Hope International.

Harper began his collegiate career at Louisiana (2020–22), where he appeared in 36 games over two seasons, averaging 5.6 points as a sophomore. He then transferred to Eastern Washington for the 2022-23 season, playing in 20 contests and posting a season-best 12 points versus Stony Brook.

Rated the No. 6 overall prospect in California by ESPN out of Santa Clarita Christian, Harper led SCCS to a CIF-Southern Section Division 2AA title and was named the Division 2AA Player of the Year. After a postgraduate year at Golden State Prep, he enrolled at Louisiana in December 2020.
