TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts men's basketball team and Head Coach Kory Barnett have announced the addition of freshman guard Alex Couto to the 2025-26 roster.
"We're thrilled to add Alex Couto to our program," said Coach Barnett. "As one of the top guards in Indiana last season, he brings a unique skill set with his ability to score and create for others. Alex's high basketball IQ makes him a great fit for the way we want to play."
From Carmel, Indiana, Couto is the fourth freshman to sign with the Golden Eagles joining Cal Furnish, Martins Kilups, and Laymen McGrady.
Couto, a cerebral 6-foot point guard, was having a breakout senior campaign before suffering an injury that sidelined him for the final six weeks of the season. In 11 games, he averaged 12.6 points, 4.0 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 43.1 percent from three (25-for-58). Known for his leadership and infectious energy, Couto was a catalyst for one of Indiana's top high school programs.
