TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts track and field and cross country programs have signed transfer distance runner Victor Vazquez-Rosas, Head Coach Alick Musukuma announced Monday.
Vazquez-Rosas will compete for both the track and field and cross-country teams.
"He qualified for the Junior College Indoor Championships and the Outdoor Championships," said Musukuma. "He's going to be a great fit for our men's track and field and cross country program. He's coming at the right time—we truly believe that he will be a great addition to our program. He could have transferred to another school, but he decided to come to ORU. We're very excited to have him be part of our men's track and field and cross country programs."
Vazquez-Rosas arrives at ORU following a successful career at the junior college level, where he showcased his versatility across a wide range of distances on both the track and cross-country course.
A native of Weatherford, Texas, Vazquez-Rosas has recorded the following collegiate bests:
800m: 1:58.21
1500m: 4:03.54
Mile: 4:19.58
3000m: 9:07.51
5000m: 16:10.09
5K (XC): 17:59.2
8K (XC): 26:13.4
With competitive range and championship-level experience, Vazquez-Rosas is expected to make an immediate impact for the Golden Eagles.
