TULSA, Okla. – The ORU volleyball program will travel to El Paso, Texas, this week to participate in the Sun City Classic. The Golden Eagles have a tough slate ahead of them, facing off against a familiar foe in Texas Southern, #24 UCLA and an undefeated UTEP team.

Opening Serve

• Head coach Nolan Albrecht is in his first year as the head coach of the ORU volleyball program.
• Coach Albrecht added his sister Annika (Albrecht) Moulder and Katy Morrison to his staff as assistant coaches this summer.
• The Golden Eagles have welcomed nine newcomers this offseason, six of whom are freshmen.
• Freshman, Hayden Hart, earned a spot on the Vandal Volleyball Invitational All-Tournament Team at the Vandal Volleyball Invitational for her 30-kill performance.
• The Golden Eagles rank 13^th in the country and first in the Summit League in team attacks per set (38.12).
• DS/L Julia Carr and MB Natassia Baptiste were named Summit League Preseason Players to Watch.
• ORU is three wins away from 1,000 wins as a program.

Inside the Matchup: Texas Southern

• The Golden Eagles have played against Texas Southern twice dating back to 2013. ORU holds a 2-0 record against the Tigers. 
• Alexis Austin is in her fourth year at Texas Southern, holding a 27-68 career record.

• ORU has never played UCLA.
• Alfee Reft is in his third season at the helm of the Bruins and holds a 33-30 career record.

• The Golden Eagles have never faced UTEP.
• Ben Wallis holds a 122-59 career record and is currently in his seventh season at the helm of the Miners.
