CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The ORU volleyball program participated in the UNC Volleyball Tournament, falling to Bucknell and North Carolina at Carmichael Arena.
 
Against Bucknell, the Golden Eagle offense was led by Hayden Hart, who finished with 14 kills on the day, followed by Hope Hickman, who had 11. Defensively, three players reach double figures in digs, including Julia Carr's 17, 15 from Rachel Resta and 10 more from Sophie Johnson.
 
The Golden Eagles fell behind early, dropping a tough first set 25-17. The Golden Eagles trailed by as many as eight points as Bucknell never gave up the lead in the set. ORU responded to pick up a 25-23 victory in set two, evening the match at one set apiece. The Golden Eagles prevailed in a back-and-forth set that featured four lead changes and was tied 11 times. Neither team led by more than three points along the way. The Golden Eagles also racked up 19 kills over the course of their lone set win. Bucknell responded to win set number three, putting Oral Roberts in a two-set hole. The Golden Eagles lost the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way before losing the set 25-13. Oral Roberts then dropped the fourth set 25-19 to finish off the match. The Golden never held the lead before losing the set.
 
Against UNC, Elyse Dube finished with nine kills on the day to lead the Golden Eagle offense, while Julia Carr tallied 10 digs to lead ORU defensively. Farah Helmy led ORU in assists, recording 17.
 
The Golden Eagles found themselves in an early deficit, dropping a tough first set 25-13. ORU trailed by as many as 12 points, but North Carolina never gave up the lead in a set that was tied three times. ORU then fell in the second set 25-15, dropping the first point before fighting from behind the rest of the way. In the third set, ORU held an early 7-3 lead. Mid-set, ORU gave up five points as North Carolina grabbed the advantage for good at 18-17. The set was tied up three times before the Tar Heels took the match.
