#ORUWBB Defeats North Dakota 95-67, Four Golden Eagles Reach Double-Figure Scoring

TULSA, Okla. – With four players reaching double-figure scoring, the Oral Roberts women's basketball team defeated North Dakota 95-67 on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Eagles improved to 8-7 on the season and 1-1 in Summit League play.

Anna Trusty led the way for ORU with 20 points. Gentry Baldwin followed closely with 17 points, shooting a perfect 3-of-3 from beyond the arc. Jalei Oglesby added 15 points, while Kayten Donley chipped in 12.

ORU shared the ball well, racking up 16 assists on 33 made field goals. Baldwin's eight assists– a career high– paced the Golden Eagles.

The Golden Eagles forced 31 North Dakota turnovers while committing just 14 of their own. ORU converted those takeaways into 35 points. Baldwin also recorded a career-high six steals to lead the defensive effort.

ORU started strong, taking a 21-16 lead into the second quarter. The Golden Eagles did most of their first-quarter damage in the paint, scoring 16 of their 21 points near the basket.

The Golden Eagles extended their lead in the second period, highlighted by a Baldwin three-pointer that capped a 9-0 run. ORU went into halftime with a 42-33 advantage.

ORU tacked on 32 points in the third quarter, shooting 10-of-19 from the floor and 10-of-13 from the free throw line. Holding UND to 5-of-12 shooting in the period, the Golden Eagles built a 74-47 lead heading into the fourth. ORU capitalized on 14 North Dakota turnovers in the quarter, scoring 16 points off takeaways.

The Golden Eagles coasted to the victory in the final period, shooting 3-of-3 from deep, including back-to-back three-pointers from freshman Bella Edwards.
 
The Leaders
Oral Roberts: Anna Trusty led the Golden Eagles with a game-high 20 points, shooting 7-of-7 from the free throw line. Gentry Baldwin posted game highs and career bests with eight assists and six steals.

Oklahoma Wesleyan: Lauren Hillesheim led the Fighting Hawks with 13 points, while Walker Demers pulled down a team-high eight rebounds and added two blocks.
