WICHITA, Kan. – The Oral Roberts University women's soccer team made history Sunday night, cruising past Friends, 4-0, at Adair-Austin Stadium to improve to 4-0-0, the best start in program history.
ORU wasted little time asserting control, breaking through in the 11th minute when
Amaris Hamilton-Grein redirected a feed from
Alaina Trevino past Friends goalkeeper Kaitlyn Martinez for the game's opening goal. The Golden Eagles doubled their advantage just nine minutes later, as
Kynlie Wilson converted a penalty kick in the 20th minute to make it 2-0.
ORU kept the pressure on for the rest of the match, out-shooting Friends 21-3 on the night.
Brianna Castleberry added her fourth goal of the season, an unassisted finish in the 64th minute, before
Ava Vigil capped the scoring in the 87th minute off an assist from
KellyAnn Chada.
Sienna Hamilton-Grein made her first start in goal and turned in the shutout, needing only one save behind a defense that limited Friends to just three shots and one shot on goal.

- ORU is 4-0-0 to start the season for the first time in program history.
- The Golden Eagles have outscored opponents 12-1 through four matches.
- For the second time this season (tonight and 8/12 at Central Arkansas), four different players scored for ORU, with two more (Trevino, Chada) adding assists.
- ORU controlled a 7-0 edge in corner kicks and out-shot Friends 21-3.
- Sienna Hamilton-Grein earned the win in her first start, stopping the only shot on target she faced.
