High-profile transfer brings a wealth of experience and

leadership to the Golden Eagles ... switch-hitting shortstop will bat in the

lead-off spot ... owns excellent power from both sides of the plate but is at

his best when hitting line drives and working the count ... excellent defensive

shortstop ... has good speed and is expected to be a base-stealing threat ...

At University of Texas


Started 120 games at shortstop in three seasons at the

University of Texas ... helped lead Texas to three consecutive College World

Series appearances, winning the 2002 National Championship and finishing as

runner-up in 2004 ... started all five of Texas' games at the 2004 CWS ...

belted a home run as part of a comeback against Georgia which helped propel

Texas into the championship round ... Hollimon's best season at Texas came as a

freshman in 2002 when he started 63 games and batted .262 with four home runs

and 37 RBI en route to being named a Collegiate Baseball Freshman

All-American, second-team All-Big 12 and Big 12 All-Freshman ... started 42

games at shortstop in 2004, batting .225 with six doubles, two triples, five

home runs and 28 RBI ... in three seasons with the Longhorns, Hollimon batted

.243 with 12 home runs and 75 RBI, also stealing 20 bases in 22 attempts.







High School


2001 graduate of Jesuit College Prep in Dallas ... selected

in the 32nd round of the 2001 MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers ... a

two-time Collegiate Baseball High School All-American at Jesuit Prep in

Dallas ... a four-time All-State pick ... named third-team All-American by

Baseball America as a senior after batting .446 with 12 doubles, five

triples, eight home runs and 28 RBI ... played for the U.S. Junior National Team

in 2000 and was a member of the bronze medal-winning 18-and-under U.S. National

Team at the Pan American Championships in 2000 ... team captain in each of his

final three seasons ... also lettered in basketball as a point guard, earning

All-State honors and TCIL Defensive Player of the Year honors as a senior.
