Andrew Nilo joined the ORU Athletic Department as Assistant Director of Sports Performance in August 2022. In his current role, Nilo serves as the primary sports performance coach for the baseball, women’s soccer and women’s tennis programs while assisting with ORU’s various other athletic programs.

Nilo joined the Golden Eagles after serving as a strength and conditioning assistant at Missouri State University. During his with the Bears, he directly oversaw the development and implementation of sport-specific training programs for women’s soccer and track sprinters while serving as the lead assistant for the baseball and swim and dive programs.

Prior to his time at Missouri State, Nilo served as a Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant at Delta State University where he oversaw all aspects of sports performance for the women’s soccer and men’s and women’s dive programs. Nilo also assisted with the Statesmen baseball and football programs.

Nilo completed sports performance internships at Texas Christian University, Michael Johnson Performance and Athlete Performance Enhancement Center (APEC).

A native of Weatherford, Texas, Nilo earned his B.S.H.S. in Exercise Science from Hardin-Simmons University in 2020 and his M.S. in Sport and Human Performance from Delta State University in 2022. From 2016 to 2020 Nilo competed as a member of the Hardin-Simmons baseball program. He is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, a Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist (FRCms) through Functional Range Systems and is Adult First Aid/CPR/AED Certified through the American Red Cross.
