2025 (JUNIOR)
Wailele Kane-Yates played in 57 games, starting 56 of them, mostly at catcher...he led the team in batting average, home runs, RBIs, and OPS posting a .341 average with 12 homers and 50 runs batted in and a 1.001 OPS...he ranked in the top 10 in 10 different offensive categories in the Summit League including top five finishes in slugging percentage (.576), OPS (1.001), hits (74), RBIs (50), doubles (15), and home runs (12)...during the last two weeks of the season Kane-Yates blasted five homers driving in 12 runs earning him Summit League Peak Performer of the Week leading into the Summit League Tournament.
PRIOR TO ORU (YAVAPAI COLLEGE)
2024 (Sophomore): Earned First-Team All-Conference and First-Team All-Region honors… YC's backstop and cleanup hitter played in 51 games this season and followed up his freshman campaign with an even more impressive sophomore campaign with a .354 batting average, 43 runs scored, 56 hits, 13 doubles, 13 homers, 42 RBI's, 17 walks, an OBP of .441 and SLG% of .684. Kane-Yates tied the team and conference lead in homers with Nelson and finished fourth in the conference in SLG%. Behind the dish, Kane-Yates gunned down 10 would-be base stealers this season while holding a .986 fielding percentage.
2023 (Freshman): Played in 43 games for the Roughriders and hit .289 with 32 runs scored, 44 hits, nine doubles, two triples, eight homers, 42 RBI’s and 23 walks… Threw out 14 would-be base stealers and had a RCS% of .333.
High School: Kane-Yates graduated from Kauai High School in May of 2022. While there, he led the state in batting average, hits and triples while leading his division in hits, batting average, triples, doubles and homers.
Personal: Kane-Yates was born in Lihue, Hawaii, on May 11, 2004. His hobbies include surfing and welding.
