Annan joins the Oral Roberts staff after 13 seasons at Oklahoma State University where he served as the Cowgirls’ associate head coach for nine seasons. Prior to, he was the program’s assistant coach for two seasons as well as director of player development when he began his stint in 2009.

During his time at OSU, the Cowgirls made six NCAA Championship appearances, including a Sweet 16 run in 2014 and captured the program's first WNIT title in 2012. Annan played vital roles in recruiting all six of OSU’s WNBA draft picks and helped coach seven different Cowgirls to All-American honors. He coached two Big 12 Players of the Year, a Big 12 Freshman of the Year and three Big 12 Newcomers of the Year.
 
In 2020-21, the Cowgirls reached the second round of the NCAA tournament and produced the second national award winner in program history in Natasha Mack, who claimed WBCA Defensive Player of the Year and Naismith Defensive Player of the Year honors. From 2013-16, the Cowgirls had four-straight season NCAA tournament appearances.

Annan helped the Cowgirls sign Top 20 recruit Brittney Martin in 2012, according to ESPN.com's HoopGurlz, and acquire other national Top 100 recruits on eight other occasions.

Prior to OSU, Annan was head coach at Washburn Rural High School in Topeka, Kansas. His tenure resulted in a career record of 303-109. Under his leadership, the Lady Blues won three state titles in 1996, 1999 and 2009. The program won 11 Centennial League titles in 18 years and made nine state tournament appearances.

Annan is a three-time Kansas Basketball Coaches Association Coach of the Year as well as a seven-time pick for conference coach of the year. He was named the Topeka Capital-Journal City Coach of the Year five times. He was the publication's state coach of the year twice and was named the Kansas Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 1999.

He began his coaching career in 1986 at Seaman High School in Kansas for the boys’ team where he served five seasons as an assistant.

Annan received his bachelor's in business education from Kansas State in 1986, before receiving his master's in educational administration from Kansas State in 1993. He is married to his wife, Marcia, and together they have two sons, Trent (and his wife Rozlyn) and Grant. He also has two granddaughters, Kate and Clare, the daughters of Trent and Rozlyn.
