Melissa Medley, M.Ed., LAT, ATC, joined the sports medicine staff at Oral Roberts in August 2019 as an assistant athletic trainer and works directly with the volleyball and men's tennis programs. She is a BOC certified athletic trainer and CPR/AED certified by the American Heart Association.
Medley joined the Golden Eagles after a year at Advanced Orthopedics as an athletic trainer where she worked directly in clinic with an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Wendy Emerson.
During the past two summers, Medley has provided immediate and on-the-field first aid and injury evaluations for soccer practices, games and rehabilitation sessions for the Fortuna Tulsa women's semi-professional soccer team.
Medley worked a year as an intern with the Tulsa softball team at all games, practices and rehab sessions. She also assisted the football team during the fall season by providing medical coverage. Prior to her time with the Golden Hurricane, Medley served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for two years at Central Oklahoma with the softball program.
Medley graduated from the University of Tulsa in 2015 earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training before adding a Master of Education degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2017. She is currently a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association.
