ORU Men's Tennis Drops Two Matches Over the Weekend

WICHITA, Kan. – The Oral Roberts University men's tennis team dropped matches to UT-Arlington and Wichita State over the weekend at Genesis Health Club in Wichita, Kan. The Golden Eagles fell to 1-4 overall this season with the two losses.

On Saturday, the men dropped a 4-0 decision to UTA. Alexander Dargel (Hamburg, Germany) and Andrey Savin (Korolev, Russia) fell to UTA's Jason Lateko and Gonzalo Bienzobas by a score of 8-6 at the No. 2 doubles position, while Matt Tansil and Peter Sullivan (Jenks, Okla.) lost at the No. 3 spot to Adam Srkala and Brieuc Hamon by a score of 8-1.

Dargel, Savin and Tansil all dropped singles matches at the No. 3, 4, and 5 positions, respectively, as the Mavericks claimed the 4-0 victory.

The Golden Eagles fell 5-2 against Wichita State on Sunday. ORU lost all three doubles matches as the Shockers took the early 1-0 lead.

Suslov won his second match of the season with a 2-6, 7-6, 10-7 triumph over Adrian Chermaci at the No. 2 slot, while Dargel defeated Jonathan Obrist in straight sets at No. 3 by a score of 7-5, 7-5.

ORU returns to action against No. 55 SMU on Saturday in Dallas, Texas.
