ORU Men's Tennis Sweeps Centenary, 4-0

TULSA – The Oral Roberts University men's tennis team opened Summit League play on Friday afternoon with a 4-0 shutout of Centenary at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

The Golden Eagles improved to 2-6 on the season and 1-0 in conference play, while the Gents dropped to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in Summit League action.

ORU won all four singles matches in straight sets. Oleksandr Kotsuik (Kiev, Ukraine) cruised past Jules Bourgon at the top spot by a score of 6-1, 6-0 for his team-leading third win of the season.

Alexander Dargel (Hamburg, Germany) posted a convincing win at the No. 3 position, downing Jacob Dawson by a score of 6-1, 6-1 for his second triumph of the spring season.

Andrey Savin (Korolev, Russia) and Matt Tansil (Grand Blanc, Mich.) recorded their first victories as Golden Eagles this season. Savin defeated Seva Kostelanetz at the No. 5 spot by a sore of 6-0, 6-1, while Tansil posted a 6-0, 6-1 victory over John Reeks at the No. 6 position.

The Golden Eagles return to action at 1 p.m. on Saturday against IUPUI.
