CONWAY, Ark.-Jarrett Hamilton tallied a goal and an assist to lead Oral Roberts to a season-opening 2-1 victory over Central Arkansas, Wednesday at Bill Stephens Complex.

Freshman Johnny Chavez put the Golden Eagles on the board in the 23rd minute when he took a pass from Hamilton just in front of the goal and scored to the left of the keeper for a 1-0 lead.

Hamilton gave ORU a 2-0 lead about 10 minutes later, scoring in the 33rd minute on a breakaway. Gary Arauz assisted on the goal.

UCA scored its only goal when Alex Ghaffari put the ball past ORU keeper Andrew Techanchuk.

Despite the goal, Techanchuk made six saves on 13 shots.

The Golden Eagles return to action when they visit Memphis, 7 p.m., Friday.
