WICHITA, Kan. - Oral Roberts University fell to
Wichita State in their first dual match of the 2013-14 season, 6-1,
on Friday afternoon at the Crestview Country Club.
The Golden Eagles opened the day by winning the doubles point.

Mechali won the top flight match, 8-6, over Ilija Cuic and Tin
Ostojic. Parker

Guy lost the No. 2 match, 8-0, to Guillermo Nicol and Tomislav
Gregurovic, but Michael
Sosnowski and Braxton
Bates clinched the doubles point with an 8-5 victory over Ibian
Hodgson and Jocelyn Devilliers on the third court.
The Shockers were able to win the match by taking all six
singles battles. Ostojic dropped Zierleyn in the opener, 6-2, 6-2,
and Cuic bested Mechali at the second flight, 6-2, 6-3. Gregurovic
took down Allen at No. 3, 6-1, 6-0, and Nicol slid past Guy at No.
4 with a 6-1, 6-0 victory.
Finally, Devilliers won the fifth flight over Sosnowski, 6-2,
6-2 and Hodgson downed Bates on the sixth court, 6-2, 6-2.
The Golden Eagles continue their fall season at the ITA
Regionals, which start on October 17 at the Case Tennis
Complex.
