Oral Roberts University suffered a 4-0 loss to Southland
Conference rival Lamar on Tuesday afternoon. The setback sends the
Golden Eagles to 3-15 (0-11 SLC) this season.
Lamar (6-12, 4-6 SLC) started the day with two doubles wins. Dariya
Dashutina and Hanna Elfving won the second flight, 8-2, over Haley
Martin and Ximena
Puentes, while Anna Spengler and Katya Lapayeva swept Nika
Munoz and Mairead
Cleary on court three, 8-0.
The Lady Cardinals clinched the match by taking all three of the
bottom half singles matches. Lapayeva won on court four, 6-0, 6-0,
over Puentes, and Spengler sent Munoz packing, 6-0, 6-0, on court
five. The clinching win came on the sixth court, where Elfving was
a 6-0, 6-2 winner over Cleary.
The match was stopped after Lamar had secured the fourth point.
ORU will complete their season on Friday, April 18, when they play
road matches as Tarleton State and Abilene Christian.
