TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts University men's tennis team fell in the Summit League opener, 6-1, against Denver Saturday afternoon at the Case Tennis Center.
The Golden Eagles dropped their fourth straight as their only point of the day came at the bottom of the singles lineup. ORU was also able to pull out a win at No. 1 doubles although the Pioneers were able to hold on during singles for the win.
Match Recap
- Ciaran Lavers stopped a two-match skid as he earned the come-from-behind, 2-6, 7-5, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles. Lavers knocked off Jesse Ruder Hook for his third win of the season.
- The No. 1 doubles duo of Alejandro Capdequi and Jan Pehnec won their fourth straight match of the season to improve to 4-1 on the year. Capdequi and Pehnec won a nailbiter 8-7 over Alex Gasson and David Fox.
- Capdequi also dropped a tough match at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-3 to Diogo Rocha.
