TULSA, Okla. - The Oral Roberts men's tennis team defeated the Omaha Mavericks 4-3 in the opening Summit League match of the season Friday afternoon at the ONEOK Sports Complex.

The Golden Eagles claimed the doubles points Friday winning at the No. 1 and 3 spots/ Jan Pehnec and Kenneth Boykin secured the point with a 7-5 win, while Eddy Leardini and Alvaro Santamaria finished first with a 6-4 victory. 

ORU won three matches in singles play at positions three, four and five. Santamaria won 7-5, 6-2 at the No. 3 spot, Marcello Moreira won 7-6, 6-3 at the No. 4 position and Leardini claimed a 4-6. 6-2. 6-3 win at the No. 5 position.

Up Next: ORU will play its second Summit League match of the weekend Sunday, March 11 against Drake at 3 p.m. at the ONEOK Sports Complex
