CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Women's Golf Coaches Association announced that ORU landed at No. 12 in the WGCA All-Scholar Top 25 and sophomores
Isabella Caamal,
Rachel Dupree and
Megan Lee were named All-American Scholars for 2019-20.
The WGCA All-Scholar Top 25 was announced today and the Golden Eagles earned the No. 12 spot with a 3.850 team GPA. The WGCA All-American Scholars were announced with a total of 1,097 women's collegiate golfers recognized with the prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
"This team is a great group of girls that work hard in everything they do," Head Coach
Lance Watson said. "They deserve every honor they receive."
Despite the season being cut short,
Isabella Caamal had strong season with a tied for fourth place finish at the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial. She was a two-time Summit League Player of the Week on February 12 and March 4 for her efforts at the Texas State Invitational (T-15) and the Kiawah Island Classic (T-27).
Rachel Dupree competed in all four spring season tournaments. Dupree finished the Jackrabbit Invitational tied for 27
th. She shot a season best, 72, in the second round of the Las Vegas Showdown and the third round of the Kiawah Island Classic.
Megan Lee shot a season best 218 at the Coeur d'Alene Collegiate. Lee had her best finished at the Coeur d'Alene Collegiate (T-7) with a 218 on the Par 71 course.
