TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts volleyball team begins Summit League action in its home-opening series hosting the Fighting Hawks of North Dakota for a pair of matches Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 at the Cooper Aerobics Center.

OPENING SERVE
•ORU opens the 16-match Summit League slate at home against the Fighting Hawks of North Dakota. The Golden Eagles are coming off two losses last weekend to Missouri State and Wichita State in their only non-conference action of the year.
•Freshman
Jaxie Wakley earned All-Tournament Team honors at the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational opening weekend thanks to her all-around efforts. The Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, native registered 16 kills and eight blocks in two matches. She also had six service aces and currently ranks 14th in the NCAA averaging 0.86 aces per set.
•ORU is running with two setters in the early stages of the season with returner
Sylvia Lawson and newcomer
Bryanne Soares. The pair have totaled 59 assists with 30 coming from Soares and 29 by Lawson.
•Libero
Sarah Thiessen posted back-to-back outings with double-digit digs as the redshirt junior continues to lead the Golden Eagles defensively. She reached 20 or more digs for the 10th time in her ORU career Friday.
•North Dakota started the campaign falling twice on the road at in-state rival North Dakota State in a pair of non-conference outings. Lexi Ahrens (18) and Taylor Riedl (13) posted double-digit kills opening weekend for the Fighting Hawks, while Darian Chwialkowski averaged 4.29 digs per set defensively.
•ORU was predicted to finish seventh in The Summit League standings following a quarterfinal exit at last year's conference championships.
•Head Coach
Frank Craig III added six players in his first recruiting class with the Golden Eagles as four freshmen and two junior college transfers joined the program.
Kaia Dunford (Waimanalo, Hawaii),
Chloe Salcedo (Garland, Texas),
Bryanne Soares (Kapolei, Hawaii) and
Jaxie Wakley (Broken Arrow, Oklahoma) enter the collegiate ranks for the first time.
Rami Mose (Compton, California) and
Aixa Vigil (Surquillo, Peru) made the move to ORU after starting in junior college.
