TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts men's basketball team set a program record hitting 21 3-pointers as its offense ignited in a 121-50 victory over Southwestern Christian Friday night during Homecoming Week at the Mabee Center.

All five starters quickly found their name on the scoresheet as the Golden Eagles built a 13-4 advantage in the first five minutes. The lead swelled to 22-4 as the scoring run continued during the 14-0 burst led by Carlos Jurgens. The redshirt junior tallied seven of the team's points in the rally connecting on back-to-back triples in the three-minute stretch. ORU dominated both ends of the court over the next eight minutes as it held the Eagles off the scoreboard on a 19-0 burst stretching the margin to 43-8.

From there, Max Abmas caught fire and drilled three 3-pointers in a span of 61 seconds igniting the Homecoming crowd as he showed off his range pushing the Golden Eagles lead to 45 points. The Rockwall, Texas, native added three free throws in the final minute of the opening half as ORU took a 60-17 advantage into the locker room at intermission.

Jurgens and Kareem Thompson continued the scoring early in the second stanza, but SCU registered seven-straight points until Francis Lacis knocked down one of his three triples. An Issac McBride layup capped a 13-2 run for ORU building an 82-29 cushion and helped the home side make six-consecutive shots. Sir Issac Herron pushed the Golden Eagles over the century mark as the freshman connected from distance as the lead moved to 101-37. Luka Tekavcic scored ORU's final points of the night during his collegiate debut on a reverse layup off a slick feed by Elijah Lawrence ending the 121-50 win.

Turning Point
A quick, 6-0 run by the Golden Eagles turned a 2-2 tie into an 8-2 lead for the home side and the race was on as ORU stayed in front for 39:31 of the 40-minute outing.

Individual Leaders
Oral Roberts: Lacis led the charge for the Golden Eagles posting a 13-point, 12-rebound double-double, the second of his career, and added four steals.

Southwestern Christian: Khristien White and Luiz Machado Jr. each scored 10 points to lead the Eagles offensively.

Inside the Box Score
- Abmas led all scorers totaling 16 points on 5-of-7 shooting overall and was 3-of-5 from distance, while Jürgens added 14 points and also made five shots from the floor and three from 3-point range.

- Lacis, Herron and DeShang Weaver each chipped in 13 points and combined for seven made triples, including a 3-of-3 effort by Herron in his second collegiate outing.

- Elijah Lufile came off the bench and made all four of his shots and a pair of free throws finishing with 10 points. Thompson was effective the whole game registering nine points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals.

- McBride, Trey Phipps and Jamie Bergens gave ORU eight points apiece as the bench combined for 56 points.

News and Notes
- The Golden Eagles scored the most points in a single game since tallying 124 at home against Jarvis Christian Nov. 15, 1997. Six different players reached double-digit scoring and four others added at least eight points.

- ORU set a Mabee Center and program record hitting 21 triples and converted 50 percent of its 3-point attempts. It broke the previous record of 20 set back in 1991 against LeMoyne-Owen.

- ORU dominated the glass holding a 49-26 edge in rebounds and turned 25 SCU turnovers into 43 points.
