ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Back in the Show-Me State, the Oral Roberts baseball team did just that with a 14-7 victory over Saint Louis on Friday afternoon.
Saint Louis struck first with four runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Golden Eagles quickly responded with three of their own, all coming off the bat of
Brody Gibson, who sent his first home run of the year to right field.
ORU tacked on six more runs in the fourth inning.
Joshua Cox got things going with an RBI single to plate
Anthony Martinez. Following Gibson's lead,
Ryan Cash launched his first home run of the year to right field for a two-run shot.
Adam Oviedo kept things rolling with a two RBI triple, before
Jordan Wiley knocked him in with a single.
The Billikens never gave up the fight, plating three runs in the seventh inning to close the gap. Once again, ORU responded with a four run inning in the eighth. Gibson and Martinez both drew bases loaded walks, before Cox added a two run single to right field.
Oviedo capped off the ORU scoring for the afternoon with an RBI double to center field, scoring
Jake McMurray in the ninth inning.

- Brody Gibson and Ryan Cash both hit their first home runs of the season for the Golden Eagles.
- With four runs batted in, Gibson set a new career-high, surpassing the 3 RBI game he tallied against North Dakota State on April 20, 2019 in Fargo.
- Gibson, Jordan Wiley, and Anthony Martinez all recorded three hit games for the Golden Eagles. As a team, the Golden Eagles had only tallied five three-hit games thus far this season (Ryan Cash (2), Jake McMurray (2), and Caleb Denny)

- ORU pitchers struck out 10 Billikens, while walking just three. Isaac Coffey recorded seven strikeouts through 6.0 innings of work on his way to the win.
