RICHARDSON, Texas - The Oral Roberts men's tennis team claimed a 7-0 win at UT Dallas Friday afternoon in Richardson, Texas.
 
Eddy Leardini and Jonathan Evans started things off for the Golden Eagles with a 6-0 victory at No. 3 doubles followed by Marcello Moreira and Volodymyr Zakharov who claimed the doubles point for ORU with a shutout victory at No. 2. Albert Chudy and Andre Russo won at No. 1, 6-4.
 
Entering singles play with a 1-0 lead, Leardini put the Golden Eagles up 2-0 with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5. Scott Hjelm won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6 to put ORU on top, 3-0, in the dual. Russo sealed the dual for ORU with a two-set shutout victory at No. 4, 6-0, 6-0. Moreira then won, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 3, followed by Chudy at No. 2, 6-1, 6-2. Zakharov closed his two-set tiebreaker match, 7-5, 7-6, to claim the 7-0 sweep for the Golden Eagles.
 
Lamar won the second dual of the day, 4-0, after three unfinished matches in singles action. Zakharov and Albert Chudy grabbed a win at No. 1 in doubles play with a 6-3 victory.
 
Up Next: ORU will face Tulane Saturday, March 6 at 1 p.m. in Dallas, Texas, followed by SMU at 4 p.m.
